What’s in style now and what’s not? The newest new car registrations data from the SMMT indicates which automobiles are winning the hearts and pockets of British shoppers — and which are losing ground. Here are the best-selling cars in 2022 after two months on the market:

Vauxhall Corsa

The redesigned Corsa had a fantastic year in 2021, ending as the best-selling vehicle in the United Kingdom. Its popularity is due in part to PSA-developed foundations and a powertrain combination that includes diesel, gasoline, and electric engines. It is back in first place two months into 2022, after falling to sixth place in January.

Kia Sportage

With 4134 sales so far this year, the Sportage finished February in second place. The company’s fourth-generation SUV is a global sensation, with both petrol and diesel engines available, but it will be entirely redesigned both in the interior and exterior later this year. It will also be the first time the car receives a European edition.

Mini 3dr/5dr

Despite its age, the Mini remains a popular vehicle. It came in third place in 2021, behind superminis like the Toyota Yaris and Volkswagen Polo. The Mini can always be depended on for vehicle performance and enticing appearance, thanks to an electric convertible, a varied line-up of petrol, and John Cooper Works performance variations. In 2023, a newly designed mini will be released.

Ford Puma

With 3773 sales in the 2nd month of the year, the Ford Puma crossover is in fourth place. Buyers are drawn to it because of its driving dynamics and affordable pricing, and the selection has lately expanded with the inclusion of a warm-blooded ST variant and a luxurious Vignale trim.

Vauxhall Mokka

The Vauxhall Mokka small crossover, which was recently upgraded, is the company’s second model to make the top ten. The new car includes a radical new appearance and a variety of feisty Stellantis powertrains, making it an almost altogether different proposition than the old, GM-built Mokka.

Kia Niro

With a capable hybrid model and an electric vehicle, the Niro continues to be one of the greatest ways to have a taste of electrification. Later this year, Kia will replace the vehicle with a new exterior design and revised powertrains, while the Nissan Qashqai rival grows in size significantly.

Hyundai Tucson

Last year, Tucson was consistently in the top ten, proving its claims to be among the best-selling SUVs in the nation. In 2021, the vehicle was updated with a redesigned front end and a distinctive lighting configuration.

Ford Focus

Ford’s legendary Focus is still in the top ten, despite a big overhaul due later this year. So far this year, this unit has sold 2634 copies. The Ford emblem will be relocated to the center of the grille, while standard equipment and interior technology will be greatly upgraded.

Toyota Corolla

This is the only Toyota entrant in the top ten. The Corolla has been produced in the United Kingdom since 2019 and is equipped with a powerful hybrid powertrain. Later this year, the vehicle will get a new SUV model, rounding out the company’s SUV lineup.

Volvo XC40

After two months in 2022, the Volvo XC40 is still in the top ten list of best-selling cars. The model’s exterior appearance has just been updated, with new bumpers and a new front grille. The Volvo XC40, which is available as a fully electric vehicle and a mild hybrid, has made 2437 sales so far this year.
