Check out these modified first-gen Porsche Cayennes
The second annual Icons of Porsche Festival in Dubai drew in tons of attendees last year. Porsche has challenged the two Porsche importers in the UAE to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Cayenne with an abundance of off-road modifications.
Every Porsche Center in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and the Northern Emirates purchased four Cayennes from the first generation and began modifying them for the off-road activities that are popular in that region of the world.
The lineup of eight vehicles includes a variety of E1s from 2007 to 2010, along with numerous accessories from the Porsche Classic catalog. This includes spotlights, jacked-up suspension, all-terrain tires, graphics, and underbody protection.
Four of the cars received 25 and 30-mm spacers and tubular bumper bars on the rear and front wheels, respectively, for a more rugged appearance.
The general manager of Porsche Centre Dubai and the Northern Emirates, Al Nabooda Automobiles, Mark Sinclair, expressed his excitement about the vehicles: “I’m really excited about these cars because they’ve all come out better than any of us could have imagined, and they look superb.” The Cayenne GTS is offered in addition to three Cayenne S models.
Since the drivetrain on this model is quite strong, they did not need to touch anything mechanical. Evidently, there is already a line of people waiting to purchase Cayennes, including one of the eight previous owners who want to repurchase his vehicle. Seller’s remorse, maybe?
