Electric BMW has launched a partnership with Electrify America where they are offering free 30-minute charging sessions for two years. It will be a great opportunity for the new BMW EV owners who can be able to charge their EVs.

A new era of electric vehicles

BMW’s new EV models including BMW iX xDrive50, BMW i4 eDrive40, and BMW i4 M50 will enjoy this complimentary EV charging program. Later this year, BMW has plan to announce more electric vehicle models for their customers. BMW estimates that global EV sales will increase at an average of 20 percent between 2025 and 2030. At least, 50 percent of the customer will demand electric vehicles by 2030. So, they want to plan accordingly to meet their customer requirement.

According to the automakers, electric models such as iX and i4 can be charged from 90 to 108 miles of range in 10 minutes. So, the 30 minutes of charging time offer will be more than enough to cover their away-from-home charging requirements.

What’s in the new partnership

Electrify America has an ultra-fast charging network across the U.S. They have 800 charging stations that can be able to provide this service. Approximately 3,500 ultra-fast chargers are performing in these stations. The company plans to expand its business in the U.S. as well as in Canada. They want to establish 1,800 charging stations with 10,000 individual chargers by 2026. Moreover, it is the largest fast-charging network in the U.S. They are capable to deliver charges from 150 kW to 350 kW which is the quickest speed today. EV owners can use My BMW and Electrify America apps to verify and search the availability of charging stations.
