New Collaboration Between Ken Block and Audi
The Head of Hoonigan Ken Block announced that he has signed a manufacturer deal with Audi. This new collaboration will be helpful for the brand to develop the electric car portfolio indeed.
The 53-year-old rally driver Ken Block split from his longtime partner Ford less than a year ago. The Hoonigan exec revealed the news in a statement. He said, “Audi is the brand that ignited my passion for motorsport,” Block also mentioned, “I am extremely excited to start this new chapter. Together, we will develop innovative projects and push the boundaries of electric mobility.”
Block visited Audi HQ
In addition to the manufacturer deal announcement, Block visited Audi HQ. It is heard that he drove different models of this electric car company including Audi Sport Quattro S1, a DTM Audi V8 Quattro, and the Audi e-tron Vision Gran Turismo.
Block said about this experience, “It’s also about performance,” Then he added, “I love anything that makes me go faster. Electric cars can do that. And as far as sound goes, I have kids who don’t care about that. They think that the sound of electric cars is just as cool as the sound of the internal combustion.”
However, neither Block nor Audi has explained any specific projects or work plans they are going to implement in the future. As the Head Hoonigan is involved, we can expect that exciting things are going to happen.
Audi’s explanation about the deal
Audi Sport managing director Julius Seebach said in a statement, “Electrification is a game-changer, just like Quattro drive once was.” Julius also added, “With Ken Block, we’ve got exciting things in store that go perfectly with our strategy.”
Ken Block’s new agreement with Audi will be playing a significant role to develop the portfolio of electric cars. The whole industry is looking forward to seeing the good result of this new collaboration.
