Identify the space

Finding a suitable space is the first step to performing parallel parking. You have to identify the parking space which is parallel to the edge of the highway. While choosing the space you have to be aware of the size of your vehicle. The space should be one and a half or two times your car’s length. It would be better if it is in the same direction as the highway. Because parking on the opposite side may create complications while pulling out your vehicle.

Look around 

Check the space between the vehicle immediately ahead of your car. Maintain at least one-meter distance and engage reverse gear to fix it at the desired position. When other traffic has passed or lets you continue, then start your move. While doing so, always turn your head through the rear window to look around carefully.
