Alas, the future is here! Do you remember when cars just drove on the ground? No flying whatsoever. Well, those days are long gone.

Flying cars are the future, and they are already a reality. We’ll all be driving flying automobiles in 2023, and we’ll all have to change our names to something cooler, like James Bond maybe?

It might be that people are getting ahead of themselves with this, but the Slovak Transport Authority has already awarded an ‘official Certificate of Airworthiness’ to the Slovakian AirCar.

That comes after over 200 takeoffs as well as landings and 70 hours of flight testing, all of which appear to be in accordance with European Aviation Safety Agency requirements. These are definitely some exciting times.

What about some statistics? A 160bhp 1.6-liter BMW engine powers the two-seat AirCar. It can fly at high to 8,200 feet and speed at 118 miles per hour in the air.

The latest version with a much more powerful engine is also being developed. This ought to make it possible for 186mph cruising and will be verified in a year. When traveling on the road, the tail and wings automatically fold away.

Professor Stefan Klein, the AirCar’s inventor, stated of the Certificate of Airworthiness, “AirCar certification opens the door for mass production of very efficient flying cars. It is official and the final confirmation of our ability to change mid-distance travel forever.”

A flying car is a vehicle that can fly and drive. They are often called “flying cars” because they are able to straddle the line between being a car and a plane.

Many people are excited about flying cars because they could revolutionize transportation. Sort of the way people were excited when electric cars made an appearance. There are many different designs for flying cars, and it is still an emerging technology. Stay tuned for updates on this exciting new development!
